Not content to sit on their laurels after a banner season that saw Brad Hildebrant bring the first ever U Sports title back to Cascade Country, Co-Head Coaches Raj Virdi and Arjan Bhullar have brought in a decorated class of many recruits into the Fraser Valley. Leading a class of five female signees is the newly minted Canada Games Champion, Ana Godinez. Ana joins her older sister Karla, a Canada West Bronze Medalist and Rookie of the year on the roster and will look to make an immediate impact in her own rookie season. Also joining the UFV Roster are Tristina Howse, Brittany Chiu, and Washington State imports Glaysia Sparling, and Arian Zemke. Collectively these girls bring five state/provincial medals and a veritable treasure chest of National Hardware.
The nine member men’s rookie class will also be able to make an immediate impact on Canada West and U Sport. From Parker McBride, a decorated and savvy freestyle wrestler with experience on the Washington Junior Dual team holding down the 54kg weight class, to a pair of giants in the 100kg Tanjot Kahlon and 120kg Sajjann Randhawa. This class will dot almost every weight of the Cascades line up. The most credentialed of the bunch, however, is hometown hero, Navdeep Toor. Toor is a four time Provincial and three time National champion who also boasts a 2015 Cadet Pan-Am bronze on his resume.
